What to Do While You Wait for Care
Knocked-out tooth: Pick it up by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently without scrubbing off any tissue, and try to place it back in the socket. If that isn’t possible, store it in milk and get to our office as quickly as you can.
Toothache: Rinse with warm salt water and use a cold compress on the outside of the cheek to reduce swelling. Avoid placing aspirin directly against the gum or tooth.
Bleeding: Apply gentle, steady pressure with a clean piece of gauze or cloth and contact our office right away.
